Payroll Specialist

Description We are offering a permanent employment opportunity for a Payroll Specialist in New York. This role will be centered predominantly on payroll operations within our company, with the potential to expand to additional responsibilities over time. The Payroll Specialist will be the primary contact for health benefits for all employees and will administer all staff benefits. This role is located in a detail oriented workplace setting.

Responsibilities

• Handle the complete payroll process for all employees efficiently and accurately

• Act as the main contact for all health benefits-related inquiries and concerns

• Administer employee benefits including health, commuter benefits, direct deposit, and 401K

• Facilitate new employee orientation and ensure proper setup in the payroll processing system, particularly Paycom

• Track employee benefits including vacation and sick days

• Carry out background checks for potential drivers

• Oversee the update and maintenance of the Employee Manual

• Prepare and send out all verification of employment letters and notifications. Requirements - Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role as Payroll Specialist

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services

• Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now

• Demonstrable skills in using Ceridian software

• Proficient in using Dayforce software

• Experience in 401k - RRSP Administration

• Knowledge of About Time software

• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions

• Experience in Auditing

• Knowledge of Benefit Functions

• Proficiency in using Paycom software

• Ability to handle and resolve Account Discrepancies
