Payroll Specialist

Description

We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Payroll Specialist in McLean, Virginia. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to payroll processing and administration. You will be working in a team-oriented environment, ensuring the accuracy of payroll data, and providing assistance to employees with payroll-related inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Accurately compile payroll data including garnishments, leave time, benefits, and statutory deductions.

• Ensure timely and accurate processing of periodic payroll according to State regulations and fund transfers to employee accounts.

• Setup new employees in the system ensuring all information is complete and precise.

• Uphold the integrity of the timesheet system, including updating employee and contact information.

• Respond to and address employee queries concerning payroll and timesheets.

• Contribute to special payroll or accounting projects as needed.

• Generate payroll journal entries in Costpoint.

• Conduct reconciliation and posting of employee leave.

• Manage the upload and maintenance of pay types and other codes in ADP.

• Oversee the upkeep of ADP reports for payroll and benefits.

Must have goverment contracting experience

Requirements - Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role

• Proficient in using ADP Workforce Now software for payroll processing

• Experience in 401k - RRSP Administration

• Knowledge and understanding of Accounting Functions

• Proven experience in Auditing in a payroll context

• Familiarity with Benefit Functions related to payroll

• Proficient in using Deltek Costpoint

• Experience in Full Cycle Payroll processing

• Knowledge of Multi-state Payroll laws and regulations
