    Tyler Houk (Practice Director) at Robert Half is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our team in the agriculture industry, based in Fresno, California. This role focuses on managing the full cycle of payroll processing and supporting accounts payable functions.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage the full cycle of payroll processing for all employees, ensuring accurate calculations of wages, deductions, and benefits.

    • Maintain and update employee records, including tax information, deductions, and leave balances.

    • Address and reconcile payroll discrepancies and handle employee inquiries regarding pay and benefits.

    • Assist with accounts payable duties, including processing invoices and managing vendor relationships.

    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, including timely filing of payroll taxes.

    • Collaborate with HR and management teams to ensure accurate reporting and reporting of employee information.

    • Maintain payroll records and assist with internal and external audits.

    • Display a strong understanding of accounts payable and accounting practices.

    • Utilize payroll software for efficient processing and management.

    • Apply knowledge of agricultural industry payroll regulations and practices.

    Requirements

    • Candidate must possess at least 3 years of experience in a Payroll Specialist role or a similar capacity in the agriculture industry.

    • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) is mandatory.

    • The ability to handle Full Cycle Payroll is required.

    • Familiarity with Payroll - Garnishments is a must.

    • The candidate should be adept at various Payroll Functions.

    • Experience in Reconciling Payroll is a key requirement.

    • The candidate must be capable of Processing Payroll effectively and efficiently.

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary.

    • The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.

    • Proficiency in using payroll software and other related IT tools is required.

    • The candidate should have a keen eye for detail and a high level of accuracy.

    • Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines are crucial.

    • Knowledge of current payroll tax requirements and regulations is necessary.
