  • Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Payroll Specialist in Charlotte, North Carolina. This role is within the finance industry, specifically focusing on payroll processing. The successful candidate will be assisting with the administration of payroll activities, including year-end, quarter-end, and bonus processing, and ensuring adherence to deadlines and accuracy in payment disbursement.

    Responsibilities

    • Carry out full-cycle payroll tasks, ensuring all payments are processed in an accurate and timely manner.

    • Collaborate with the finance team to manage day-to-day payroll processing activities.

    • Utilize accounting software systems to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.

    • Handle payroll-related project management activities, ensuring all deadlines are met.

    • Administer 401k - RRSP Administration, ensuring all regulations and company policies are followed.

    • Use ADP - Financial Services, Ceridian, IBM AS/400, and Kronos Timekeeping System for various payroll tasks.

    • Oversee the administration of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

    • Utilize Workday and Workday ERP to manage payroll and related functions.

    • Handle inquiries related to payroll and resolve any issues promptly.

    • Monitor and maintain accurate payroll records, updating them as necessary. Requirements - Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a related role.

    • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems, ADP - Financial Services, Ceridian, IBM AS/400, Kronos Timekeeping System, 401k - RRSP Administration, About Time, Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Workday, Workday ERP.

    • Strong understanding of payroll processes, procedures, and best practices.

    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

    • Strong numerical and analytical skills.

    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.

    • High degree of professionalism and ability to interact with all levels of the organization.

    • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.

    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.

    • High attention to detail and accuracy.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    • Knowledge and understanding of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.

    • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
