Payroll Clerk

Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Payroll Clerk in the non-profit industry. Based in Hartford, Connecticut, this role involves a range of tasks related to payroll and accounts payable. You will be working in a dynamic environment and expected to utilize various accounting software systems and tools.

Responsibilities

• Accurately and efficiently process a high volume of payroll and credit card transactions on a daily basis.

• Use the RAMP processing tool and other accounting software systems such as Oracle and UKG Pro.

• Perform account reconciliations, especially for expense accounts, and maintain accurate records.

• Review and audit time cards for both hourly and salaried employees across multiple locations.

• Assist with the preparation and processing of accounts payable, ensuring all payments are made within the due dates.

• Work collaboratively with other team members to resolve any issues or inquiries related to payroll or accounts payable.

• Participate in the approval process for expenditures, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

• Contribute to process improvement initiatives and forward-thinking problem-solving activities.

• Handle inquiries from employees and provide timely and accurate responses.

• Assist with other accounting functions as needed, including journal entries and coding for claims. Requirements - Proficient in Accounting Software Systems for efficient payroll processing

• Comprehensive knowledge of general Accounting Functions

• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) tasks

• Proven skills in Auditing to ensure accurate financial records

• Familiarity with Benefit Functions related to payroll

• Proficiency in using UKG Pro for payroll management

• Experience with Oracle for managing financial databases
