    This position is a union role that is supported by the SEIU bargaining unit.

    Responsibilities Job Description

    The Patient Services Coordinator performs a variety of clerical functions to support the provider and care staff. The PSC is responsible to ensure patients medical records and reports are available as needed and prepares applicable medical record forms. Relays messages to and from physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and other resources vital for patient care.

    • Coordinates activities of care team to support provider and patient care staff.

    • Performs telephone message taking and advises communication in a timely fashion.

    • Requests/acquires patients reports as needed

    • Optimally uses communication systems for both routine and emergency transactions.

    • Coordinates communication between care team and outside resources.

    • Enters refills.

    • Demonstrates ability to deliver care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served.

    • Customer service skills and ability to accept cultural differences

    • Coordinate Interpreter and special need services

    • Operation of office equipment and computer programs.

    • Communication skills/Interpersonal Skills - ability to work with people who may disagree

    • Time management skills

    • Ability to collect and transfer data to forms as appropriate.

    Qualifications

    Required

    • One year experience

    Preferred

    • 3-5 years demonstrated ability
