    Fairview is looking for a Patient Escort to join our team at our University of MN Medical Center West Bank Hospital in Minneapolis, MN.

    Job Summary:

    The Patient Escort works directly with the Manager & Director of Patient Transport and is responsible for assisting in transfer and transport of patients, promoting a therapeutic environment so that goals and objectives of treatment are achieved. The Patient Escort will assist as needed with the physical move, lift, transfer and transport patients on the hospital premises in a timely, efficient, customer service-oriented manner.

    The West Building is located on the west bank of the Mississippi River, at the University of Minnesota Medical Center campus. University of Minnesota Health services provided at the West Building include pediatric specialty care, emergency, and psychiatry services.

    Responsibilities Job Description

    Patient Transport :

    • Ensure the safe transfer and transport of patients within the hospital premises, maintaining comfort and security.

    Communication :

    • Provide clear and timely information according to hospital procedures, ensuring effective daily operations.

    Customer Relations :

    • Exhibit excellent customer service with various stakeholders, including patients, visitors, physicians, coworkers, and the community.

    • Demonstrate empathy and professionalism when interacting with patients and others.

    Safety :

    • Show knowledge of safety protocols and work behaviors, contributing to a safe working environment.

    • Ensure compliance with safety guidelines to protect both patients and staff during transport.

    Technology Usage :

    • Accurately use hospital-provided technology to document transport data, ensuring records are up-to-date and reliable.

    Professional Growth :

    • Strive to enhance interpersonal skills and relationships with coworkers and others to improve work dynamics.

    Timeliness and Responsiveness :

    • Ensure prompt and efficient transport service, meeting all transport-related tasks in a timely manner to maintain patient satisfaction.

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Computer experience

    • Strong communication and customer services skills

    • Current BLS Certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross)

    Other Qualifications

    • Ability to stand and walk for entire shift

    • Ability to lift, transfer and transport patients and equipment

    • Similar experience
