    The Parts Supervisor is accountable for the supervision and development of the Parts counter staff. Responsible to increase parts sales, assist in marketing to establish new sales opportunities and foster existing accounts to build a loyal clientele, and maintain good employee and customer relationships. This is a leadership role with the ultimate accountability to overall profitability of the Parts Department.

    Responsibilities

    • Ensure compliance of all Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) regulations, as well as the Company's Health and Safety Policy.

    • Assists with supervising, directing and scheduling the activities of all parts staff.

    • Assists with for managing/organizing work and vacation schedules of all parts staff with Parts Manager final approval.

    • Assists the Parts Manager in reviewing all parts counter employee time records (timecards).

    • Prioritizes and expedites all non-stock/critical orders for the shop.

    • Assists with telephone and parts counters (back/ front) as required - serving as counter/telephone backup for all breaks and lunches. At times will be required to perform duties outside of regular working hours to address customer concerns or provide exceptional customer service. For example: delivering parts.

    • Assists with planning for increasing front counter sales; by arranging and maintaining the retail display area, arranging monthly flyer display.

    • Ensures the closing out and balancing of the daily cash/visa sales at the end of each day shift and ensures that all cash floats are maintained and checked weekly ($200 per cash float).

    • Processes Leasing and Warranty cores and returns on a regular basis as determined by management.

    • Establishes and maintains harmony and teamwork within the Parts Department and other departments and personnel of the dealership.

    • Motivates, educates and encourages parts counter staff to foster a team environment of winners.

    • Presents a clean and professional appearance at all times, acts in a manner that projects a positive image of the Company to clients, customers, co-workers, and the public.

    • Understands, keeps abreast of, enforces and complies to all federal, provincial, and local regulations that affect parts inventory storage and sales.

    • Participates in International's self-paced and web-based training. Also participates in additional training as offered i.e., Supervisory training, night school course(s). Encourages parts counter staff to participate in all training offered.

    Other Shared Supervisory Responsibilities

    • Assists with training, motivating, counseling, and monitoring the performance of all parts staff.

    • Assists the outside parts sales staff and to provide the best level of customer service and utilizes experiences to ensure the success of the entire parts department.

    • Assist the Parts Manager with investigations regarding customer complaints, resolving disputes (e.g., Fleet charge, wrong parts).

    • Ensures parts and core returns are processed in a timely manner.

    • Works together with the Warranty Administrator in order to receive full payment for claims. This includes ensuring all requested parts to be returned are available, warranty room is organized, and all scrap parts are thrown out.

    • Encourages the use of Lost Sale Tracking Report.

    • Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Ensures Company Health and Safety policies and procedures are followed. Reports any health and safety concerns to the Parts Manager / General Manager or Joint Health & Safety Committee

    • Other related duties as assigned by management.

    Basic Qualifications

    • High school diploma or general education diploma (GED).

    • Valid driver's license and a good-driving record.

    • Two years' experience in a dealership/automotive parts, repair or related experience is an asset.

    • Competency in the following areas required; customer service, verbal , time management, team building, proficiency with software and computers.

    • Sales experience is preferred

    • Proven work experience with at least one year experience

    • Knowledge of warehouse software packages and MS Office proficiency

    • SAP knowledge is an asset

    • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

    • Proven ability to direct and coordinate operations

    • Leadership ability and team building skills

    • Professional and friendly attitude with strong customer focus
