    The Cannabis Expungement Board (CEB) is filling up to two Paralegal Supervisors. These positions will play a key role in creating and executing the legal and procedural framework for determining eligibility for expungement of criminal records. They will provide an opportunity for meaningful, equity-addressing work and to help establish an agency from the ground up.

    The positions will assist CEB in processing case files to determine eligibility for expungement of a criminal record or resentencing. They will supervise a team of paralegals; manage the job duties and workflow of the paralegal team; develop and provide training for paralegals and all division staff on paralegal matters; and compile reports on paralegal tasks and participate in reporting needs for the Board.

    Minimum Qualifications

    To be qualified for and considered for this position, applicants must meet all of the minimum qualifications listed below. Ensure that your resume contains descriptions of your work experiences sufficient for comparison against the requirements stated below and indicate the beginning and ending month and year for each job held.

    • Two (2) years of experience in a legal setting*A Bachelor's degree in pre-law or related field can substitute for 12 months of experience. A Master's degree in the above may substitute for 18 months of experience.

    • Demonstrated leadership experience. Leadership experience can include experience as a supervisor, lead worker, team lead, project lead, or completion of a State of Minnesota Leadership program (e.g. ELI or SLI), or comparable leadership program

    Preferred Qualifications

    The following qualifications are strongly desired of applicants seeking consideration for this position

    • Graduation from an American Bar Association approved Paralegal or Legal Assistant Program or equivalent

    • Juris Doctor and licensed to practice law in Minnesota

    • Experience supervising staff

    • Experience accessing criminal records through the Minnesota Governmental Access (MGA) System

    • Experience in and working knowledge of criminal justice and expungement law

    • Experience planning, organizing, coordination, implementing, and reporting on program objectives

    • Team building skills, including superior communication, written and public speaking skills

    • Well established negotiation skills and an aptitude for building consensus through cooperation and coalition-building
