  • The Department of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences, at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, is seeking applicants for an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry position. Responsibilities include providing general adult psychiatric clinical services to the Medical Center. These clinical services could include both inpatient and/or outpatient work. The incumbent is expected to participate in supervision and training of psychiatry residents, fellows, and medical students. The incumbent may be required to provide services in person, through telemedicine, embedded in other UVA clinics or in other affiliated sites, cover call for nights and weekends, and/or backup calls for psychiatry service. This is an excellent opportunity for a clinician with interests in academic psychiatry, teaching and research.

    Candidates must have an MD, DO, or equivalent and be board-eligible in Psychiatry by the start date of the position. Candidates having completed fellowship training in areas of geriatric psychiatry, psychosomatic medicine and/or addiction psychiatry/medicine are strongly encouraged to apply.
