    The Office of Cannabis Management is currently seeking an Ombudsperson to enhance and ensure integrity and fairness within the Minnesota cannabis industry by investigating complaints related to cannabis law, facilitating dispute resolutions, and providing informed recommendations on social equity matters.

    This position is located in St. Paul and may telework from home two days per week and is expected to be in the office three days per week.

    A successful incumbent in this position will be able to

    • Investigate and resolve complaints related to the Office of Cannabis Management to ensure all complaints are handled efficiently, timely, and effectively

    • Provide technical assistance and dispute resolution guidance to stakeholders involved in the cannabis industry

    • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and integrity and remain unbiased in complaint review/investigation

    • Provide consultation and education to clients and the public about cannabis regulations, social equity, and the complaint resolution process

    Minimum Qualifications

    To facilitate proper years of service crediting, please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed and indicates the beginning and ending month and year for each job held.

    • Three (3) or more years of experience conducting administrative investigations, mediation, and/or dispute resolution. A bachelor's degree in psychology, human resources, law, criminal justice, public administration, public policy, or social services may substitute for one (1) year of experience.

    • Experience providing advocacy services to clients

    • Excellent organizational/case management skills sufficient to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and ensure deadlines are met

    • Human relations skills sufficient to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders

    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and remain unbiased in reviewing complaints and allegations

    • Ability to celebrate diversity and a strong commitment to a respectful and inclusive work environment

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in psychology, human resources, law, criminal justice, public administration, public policy, or social services

    • Experience providing individual consultation, education, or technical assistance to clients and the public

    • Experience in government administration and/or the cannabis industry

    • Knowledge of MN cannabis laws, rules, and regulations

    • Knowledge of the MN legislative process

    • Knowledge of social inequities in the cannabis industry
