    Job Summary:
    We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Logistics Department Office Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of our logistics team. This role requires a strong leader who can efficiently manage staff, prioritize workloads, and ensure smooth operations in a fast-paced environment. The Office Supervisor will play a key role in managing imports, shipments, domestic inbounds, and interdepartmental communications, while ensuring the department's adherence to GMPs and Food Safety guidelines.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Directly supervise employees in the logistics department, including order entry, EDI, exports, imports, shipping, and OS&D (Overage, Shortage, and Damage).
    • Maintain a professional work environment, motivate team members, and organize morale-boosting activities.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of job procedures to optimize productivity, cost savings, and smooth workflow.
    • Monitor team members' productivity, resolve issues, and provide constructive feedback and coaching.
    • Ensure tasks are completed on time by communicating effectively with staff both verbally and in writing.
    • Collaborate with other departments, keeping them informed of any potential delays or issues.
    • Approve employee time off requests and timecards, and support with performance reviews.
    • Coordinate monthly departmental meetings to provide updates and address concerns.
    • Attend meetings with vendors as needed.
    • Monitor and manage all imports, shipments, and domestic inbounds, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines.
    • Ensure adherence to GMPs and Food Safety standards.
    • Maintain logs and reports, and negotiate pricing for international freight.
    • Coordinate and book import shipments and renew import permits, licenses, and registrations.
    • Stay updated on regulatory changes from agencies such as USDA, CBP, and FDA related to imports and exports.

    Requirements:

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or GED required; 6-7 years of relevant administrative experience, including 2-3 years in a leadership role within a logistics or similar department.
    • Strong leadership skills to manage a logistics team, motivate staff, foster a positive work environment, and maintain employee morale. This includes the ability to conduct performance reviews, address conflicts, and provide coaching.
    • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. This includes delivering instructions, resolving issues, providing feedback, and collaborating with other departments.
    • Ability to resolve issues related to productivity, shipping delays, damaged goods, and team performance. Decision-making skills are crucial for quick resolution of operational challenges.
    • Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks and ensure deadlines are met, including overseeing import/export processes, ensuring compliance, and managing departmental workflows.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Ability to climb stairs to office location.
    • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at times.
