    Position Purpose:

    Leads Operators and O&M Technicians in the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment plant.

    Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for operating and monitoring main control system

    • Performs Wastewater process control and preventative maintenance/corrective maintenance functions.

    • Coordinates and works with maintenance staff on preventive and corrective maintenance functions

    • Performs cleaning and general housekeeping duties in work areas including office, laboratory, cleaning of clarifiers, headworks, centrifuge, and other process equipment as assigned.

    • May be required to work in sanitary sewerage collection systems including maintenance of lift stations.

    • May be required to operate automotive equipment, including heavy trucks, forklifts and front-end loaders.

    • Adheres to all safety regulations.

    • May train or assist in the training of OITs and assigned helpers.

    Qualifications

    Education/Experience/Background:

    • High School Diploma/GED required.

    • Bachelor's Degree in related field/or equivalent work experience.

    • 8+ years of experience in the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    • Capable of being assigned as responsible charge of the facility with an ability to react to unplanned events.

    Required Certification/Licenses/Training:

    • Grade IV or higher Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators Certificate.

    • Valid driver's license.

    • CDL license.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

    • Ability to perform the following: straight pulling, reaching above the shoulder, pushing, walking, standing, crawling, kneeling, repeated bending and sitting for extended periods of time.

    • Ability to distinguish basic colors and various shades.
