  • Overview

    M Health Fairview is looking for a Nutrition Services Aide on the Southdale Campus in Edina, Minnesota. This position is 56 hours in a 2-week period, on day shift.

    This position is responsible for preparing food portions and assembling and disassembling patient trays in a safe manner. Serves customers, delivers and retrieves patient trays along with other duties as assigned in the nutrition areas. This is an entry-level position where you will be able to acquire experience and knowledge in a fast-paced team environment where customer service and food service skills are appreciated. Nutrition services staff directly influence the patient, guest, and staff experience by preparing and serving the food that sustains everyone through their healing or their work. There is phenomenal opportunity to engage directly with patients and staff, and an opportunity to work together on a team of engaged employees.

    About this position:

    • The position reports to five department managers (may also report to the general manager).

    • Approximately 75 employees in the department.

    Location : Southdale hospital, located in Edina

    Hours : 56 hours biweekly, with every other weekend dedication

    Shift : day shift

    Schedule:

    Week 1:

    Mon: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM

    Tues: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

    Fri: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

    Sat: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM

    Sun: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM

    Week 2:

    Tues: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

    Thurs: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM

    Responsibilities Job Description

    • Prepares and portions food appropriately for designated area.

    • Delivers patient meal trays while adhering to HIPAA policy.

    • Plates and serves food.

    • Handles and stores food in a safe manner following HACCP standard operating procedures.

    • Sanitizes equipment and work area per assigned schedules and designated procedures.

    • Wash and sanitize dishes and utensils.

    • Serves customers in cafeterias, doctor's dining rooms and other non-patient locations.

    • Demonstrates ability to provide care or service, adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served

    Qualifications

    Preferred Education:

    • High school diploma/G.E.D

    Desired Skills:

    • Excellent customer service and communication

    • Proficient in the English language

    • Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing

    • Attention to detail

    • Basic math skills

    • Ability to problem solve effectively
