    Position Highlights

    Summary

    • The Lead Nutrition & Food Service Assistant provides nutritious meals to patients, residents, staff and guests. This position also performs numerous food service activities to meet cleanliness standards and regulations.

    General Hours of Work

    • Various shifts starting between 5:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. (rotating weekends and holiday involvement required) (11:00am-7:30pm)

    Education and/or Experience

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Certificate, Licenses, Registrations

    • ServSafe preferred. This position requires a valid driver's license and must carry their own automobile liability insurance.

    Essential Functions

    • Prepares meals according to menus and therapeutic extensions following therapeutic diets. Follows protocol for proper serving temperatures

    • Performs all responsibilities to ensure that a positive image is presented to all customers including patients, residents, families, physicians, visitors and fellow employees. Maintains contact with residents and family members on a daily basis.

    • Participates in quality assurance activities to include simple record keeping as well as other studies as needed.

    • Completes assigned daily cleaning schedule including individual work area, equipment, and storage areas in accordance with departmental standards.

    • Offers direction/guidance to co-workers to maintain necessary mealtime schedule/dish room schedule.

    • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
