Network Engineer Responsibilities

1. Ensure that the network is reliable, robust, and can scale to meet the challenges that serving over a billion users presents.

2. Responsible for developing and deploying network designs, automation systems and network performance improvements into our production network.

3. Build experience with Backbone, Data Center, and Network Infrastructure Engineering teams.

4. Build, manage and maintain multi-vendor, multi-protocol data center and backbone networks.

5. Develop optimized network monitoring systems.

6. Design and deploy new network architectures.

7. Develop automated methods to mitigate and remediate network events.

8. Analyze data to diagnose and identify root causes to network issues.

9. Be an active participant in deep technical discussions.

10. Develop and maintain consistency within the network infrastructure.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Requires a Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field and 12 months of experience in the job offered or in a computer-related occupation. Requires 12 months of experience involving the following:

2. 1. UNIX or Linux operating system fundamentals
3. 1. TCP/IP network fundamentals
4. 1. Coding in at least one of the following higher-level programming languages: PHP, Python, C++, or Java
5. 1. Internet service architectures (such as load balancing, LAMP, or CDN's)
6. 1. Configuring and maintaining applications using at least one of the following: web servers, load balancers, relational databases, storage systems, or messaging systems
7. 1. Relational Databases including MySQL
8. 1. Network protocols including at least one of the following: NFS, DHCP, NTP, SSH, DNS, or SNMP
9. 1. Network Management tools like DHCP, NTP, SSH, DNS, or SNMP
10. 1. Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues ranging from low-level hardware issues to large scale failures within datacenter clusters
11. 1. Experience with the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)

$182,608/year to $200,200/year + bonus + equity + benefits
