    The Strategic Integration Department (N924) is seeking a Deputy Project Leader for its counterterrorism work program. The Strategic Integration Department manages, guides, and directs technical and domain-specific work focused on enhancing the nation's counterterrorism efforts at the strategic level and providing enterprise-wide solutions to counterterrorism challenges. The work requires operating at the senior-levels of government, including routine coordination and collaboration with the National Security Council Staff and Agencies and Departments with counterterrorism equities. Our efforts directly support strategy development, policymaking, and military operations, and require a comprehensive understanding of the Intelligence Community, its partners, and stakeholders operating in the counterterrorism space.

    Job Responsibilities

    The Deputy Project Leader is responsible for supporting the Project Leader in all aspects of leading and administering Project NCTC, a large, complex work program focused on the nation's counterterrorism mission. Functions include assisting the Project Leader with budgetary and contract management, socializing new concepts and engaging on complex technical and programmatic issues in highly visible, politically sensitive environments, and building/leading multi-disciplinary teams while simultaneously managing the competing equities of several government technical managers within the sponsor organization. This is an opportunity to develop and expand your project leadership and technical skills while contributing to a distinctive project with cross-cutting impact. This position requires initiative, creative leadership, and demonstrated project management experience as well as an in-depth understanding of interagency coordination processes and procedures and the nation's counterterrorism enterprise.

    The DPL responsibilities will require 20% allocation while your remaining allocation will be supporting one of the six directorates on the project.

    Required Qualifications (Required)

    • An existing, active TS/SCI clearance with current polygraph

    • Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 8 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 5 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.

    • Subject matter expertise in USG counterterrorism enterprise and efforts

    • Experience with all aspects of project management, such as work shaping, staff planning and selection, recruiting, budgeting, and reporting

    • Strong knowledge of the IC, its culture, and challenges; experience working at senior levels within multiple agencies

    • Superior sponsor engagement and communications skills and experience in politically sensitive, high-risk customer contexts

    • Knowledge of MITRE's value proposition, organizational structure, work programs, and Intelligence Center efforts

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and complex environment, engage with senior government officers on complex technical and programmatic issues, and manage the competing equities of various government stakeholders

    • Strong leadership and networking skills to reach back proactively into MITRE to identify and recruit key talent to support the program Project Management experience at MITRE

    • Strong writing and editing skills including demonstrated ability to articulate complex topics to sponsors and staff
