    Job Description

    AECOM is searching for a Civil Engineer to be based in our London, ON office. The appropriately qualified candidate will have an understanding and significant experience in civil engineering and construction management principles with a focus on the design and construction of land development (subdivision/site plan) and municipal infrastructure projects. They will be expected to work successfully within a team environment and be able to communicate effectively with other project team members and customers. They will have a high level of initiative, motivation, and display drive, energy and enthusiasm for getting things done. They will be expected to lead and support in the delivery of land development projects to customers within the private development sector, as well as in supporting the delivery of municipal infrastructure projects to municipal water, wastewater, and storm water sector clients.

    The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

    • Working knowledge of land development design services for a range of development types, including plans of subdivision and site plans (residential/commercial/industrial).

    • Design of civil systems associated with water and/or wastewater and drainage conveyance and storm water management facilities, lot/site grading, and coordination of electrical and landscaping design services, to support the development projects.

    • Knowledge of draft plan and site plan approval processes.

    • Perform constructability reviews.

    • Prepare documentation for design projects and reports.

    • Prepare construction cost estimates, security reduction estimates.

    • Preparation of project specifications and contract documents.

    • Lead construction contract administration.

    • Assist with construction inspections as required.

    Additional responsibilities will include client communication and management; lead and assist with proposal preparation; coordination of approvals with regulatory agencies; project planning, budgeting, and scheduling.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements :

    • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)

    • Registered as P.Eng. in Province of Ontario or eligible within 6 months

    • 6+ years of related experience with civil engineering, design, construction inspection, contract administration.

    • Proficient with MS Office Suite.

    • Valid Ontario Driver's License.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with municipal and private water, wastewater and/or stormwater conveyance infrastructure.

    • Experience in proposal writing, scoping and project management.

    • Excellent attention to detail.

    • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors and clients.

    • Comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary environment.

    Additional Information

    • Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.

    Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $95,000.00 - $120,000.00.
