    In the 2023 legislative session, the Governor's Office, Minnesota legislature, and leaders for children and families worked in partnership to pass legislation establishing the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) to create a sustainable, public face for children's issues in state government. This new cabinet-level agency brings together programs centered on children and families, including child care and early learning, child support, child safety and permanency, economic support and food assistance, and youth opportunity. Formerly a part of the Department of Human Services, the new Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) Agency became effective on July 1, 2024.

    The Mixed Delivery Coaching Network Lead carries out functions in the Preschool Development Grant, by accelerating and coordinating coaching and technical assistance across mixed-delivery program types to support local collaboration, promote quality and accelerate efficiency of the delivery of supports. This position will create and implement a unifying coaching framework across mixed delivery programs through collaboration and alignment with ¿state and federal coaching initiatives such as Head Start Practice-Based Coaching, Collaborative Minnesota Partnerships to Advance Student Success (COMPASS), Parent Aware, Prenatal through Grade Three (P3), Comprehensive System of Personnel Development (CSPD), and more in order to support coaching coordination among family- and center-based childcare, Head Start, Early Childhood Special Education, and public school programs.

    Responsibilities include

    • Facilitating a cross-agency, multi-disciplinary advisory group on coaching and technical assistance. Conduct research to deeply understand coaching efforts across the state. Determine coaching and technical assistance needs among programs and create a process for evaluating how needs and access change throughout the project implementation.

    • Identifying a workplan and roadmap based on coaching and technical assistance needs and opportunities. Implement coaching and technical assistance supports through collaborating with existing efforts, contract management, or other project implementation avenues determined to most benefit the project.

    • Ensuring that development, implementation, and evaluation of the coaching and technical assistance grant activity is on schedule and within budget to meet timelines and cost constraints using appropriate management tools. Support reporting and communications for the grant.

    • Performing other duties as assigned and serve as an effective member of the Preschool Development Grant team and Early Learning Services division by contributing so that division responsibilities and activities are accomplished in a timely manner.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Four years of professional experience in coaching, technical assistance and/or consultation in an education, human services, social services, childcare, early care and education, or children, youth and families setting that demonstrates the following:

    • Knowledge of Minnesota's early childcare landscape

    • Coached and/or have supervised coaches in an early childcare landscape (could consist of school, Head Start, Early Childhood Special Education, community organization, and/or family- or center-based childcare settings)

    • Project management that includes project planning and meeting deadlines, contract management and budgeting

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Variety of experiences working with adult learners and different models of teaching adult learners.

    • Experience with evaluation of program and program success that may include continuous improvement efforts.

    • Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.
