Job Description

Working under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Mechanic will be responsible for troubleshooting, overall maintenance, and repair of process and production systems and equipment at a facility that manufactures mayonnaise.

Responsibilities

• Build and assemble machines or mechanical components according to requirements

• Inspect machines, engines, transmissions, etc., and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues

• Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability

• Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner

• Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems

• Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components

• Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery

• Provide consultation on corrective maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle users

• Undertake other duties as assigned (e.g., repair of hydraulic systems, assisting technicians, fabrication, welding, fitting, rigging, and hoisting, installations of equipment, and removal of components)

• Keep logs of work and report on issues through CMMS

Essential Skills

• Troubleshooting experience on filler, capper, shrink wrap, bottling, sealer, and case wrapping machines

• General welding experience - TIG welding on stainless steel and soft steel

• General machining experience - fabrication of parts using mill/lathe/grinders on manual and semi-automatic machines

• PD pumps experience

• Rebuilding experience

• Electrical experience

• Welding experience

• Installation and fabrication skills

• Maintenance technician skills

• Preventive maintenance skills

• 433A license

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a licensed millwright

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with troubleshooting, blueprint reading, hydraulics, mechanical systems, installation, pneumatics, repair, industrial maintenance, and hand tools

Work Environment

This role operates in a clean and GMP environment. The position is for the night shift, from 10:30 pm to 6:30 am, with an hourly rate of $47 plus a $1.45 per hour night shift premium.
