    Description:

    GENERAL SUMMARY:

    Under general direction of the Hackley Occupational Health Clinic Physicians and immediate supervision of the Clinic Manager, and according to established procedures, assists physicians with the care of patients seen in the Occupational clinic. Prepares patients for examinations, conducts eye and hearing tests, and performs breathing, EKG, and Physical Therapy modalities. Performs designated portion of examination, administers medications, etc.

    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

    Education:

    1. High School diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of a certified Medical Assistant program of study through an accredited medical assistant program that includes medical terminology coursework.

    2. Recent graduate from a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces or completed Medical Assistant training or its equivalent during U.S. military services within the past five years.

    3. Prior Experience in one of the following roles: Paramedic, EMT or MA, Preferred

    4. Graduate of a Licensed Practical Nursing Program, preferred.

    License/Certifications/Registration

    1. Medical Assistant Certification. New hires without Certification/registration must be certified or registered within 90 days of employment. Requirement: CMA (AAMA) or RMA (AMT), or NCMA (NCCT), CCMA (NHA) or NRCMA (NAHP).

    2. Licensed Practical Nurses- are preferred in some practices based on the nature of the work.

    3. BCLS / CPR certification. Medical Assistant Certification/Registration. Acceptable credentials: CMA, RMA, NRCMA, CCMA or NCMA. New hires without CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA or NRCMA must become Registered or Certified within the first 90 days of employment.

    4. BLS Certification required.

    5. Paramedic License
