  • Moving Beyond Depression (MBD) is a program that focuses on providing new mothers who suffer from depression the treatment that they need to function optimally and support their child's development. This position will work with mothers who are Spanish speaking. Therefore, a successful candidate must be fluent in Spanish and English.

    Job Summary:

    Provide mental health services to clients using evidenced based treatment modalities.

    Position Location and Department:

    • This position is part of our Clinical Services - Moving Beyond Depression Program.
    • This position will work at our Wyandotte County office located at 434 Minnesota Ave, Kansas City, KS 66101.
    • Will consider Part Time work.
    • The clinician maybe required to provide in-home therapy based on client's preferences.

    Salary Range:$55,000 - $73,00

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Diagnose clients using the DSM-5.
    • Administer appropriate, evidenced based treatment modalities to clients based on clinical judgment.
    • Complete comprehensive assessments.
    • Create and implement meaningful, individualized treatment plans with clients based on identified needs and circumstances and update as appropriate.
    • Meet with clients regularly to address client concerns and progress through treatment
    • Complete accurate and timely documentation.
    • Communicate with appropriate support systems as indicated.
    • Make appropriate referrals to other service providers as indicated.
    • Provide psychoeducation as appropriate.
    • Establish trust and rapport with clients.
    • Maintain confidentiality of records relating to clients' treatment.
    • Guide clients in the development of skills and strategies for dealing with their problems.
    • Provide collateral consultation as appropriate as well as court documentation and testimony as required.
    • Maintain all professional licensure(s) required and provide prompt cooperation with third party credentialing for billing purposes.
    • Maintain accurate records of expenditures, with receipts, for all employment-related activity.
    • Other duties as assigned by supervisor, department director, or the agency Executive Director.

    Education and Experience:

    • Bilingual fluency in written and oral English/Spanish.

    • Graduated from an accredited school of higher education in the fields of social work, marriage and family therapy, professional counseling, or equivalent education.
    • A minimum of an LMSW for social work applicants
    • Clinically licensed practitioner (LCSW, LSCSW, LPC, etc.) or become clinically licensed within 3 years of hire .
    • Experience making clinical diagnosis of clients utilizing the DSM-5 preferred.
    • 2+ years of experience working with underserved populations, and/or trauma/domestic violence clients preferred.
