Position Name: Membership Financial Counselor
Location: Omaha, NE (multiple locations)
Employment Type: Direct-Hire & Permanent
Setting: Primary Care/Hybrid
Pay
$45,000 to $55,000 + 7% bonus (depending on experience)
Shift (Full-Time)
Monday-Friday: 8am-5pm
No: weekends
Qualifications
Required:
3 years of recent experience with Medicaid, Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and Special Needs Plan (SNP) eligibility and enrollment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Multi-site healthcare delivery organization experience
Capitated risk-based reimbursement models experience
Valid/Active Driver's License
Preferred:
Bachelor's Degree
Salesforce experience
Microsoft Teams experience
eClinicalWorks or similar EMR experience

Required Skills & Abilities
Strong knowledge of Medicaid, SNP, and various assistance programs, including eligibility requirements for multi-state and federal programs.
Proven ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with stakeholders and team members.
Excellent organizational, written communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in navigating state benefit portals and understanding medical insurance, including the ability to interpret explanations of benefits (EOB).
Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned market (80%).
Job Summary
The Member Financial Counselor will assist patients (members) in enrolling in state and federal assistance programs to maximize their eligible benefits. This position involves direct interaction with members and requires travel within the assigned market to engage with them at various centers.
Candidates should possess strong technological skills to effectively navigate the requirements of health plans and assistance programs. The ideal applicant will have excellent attention to detail for data entry, be receptive to feedback from leadership, and be able to communicate clearly with senior members.
Job Duties
Assist members in completing paperwork for eligibility determination and enrollment in state and federal programs, including Medicaid and SNAP.
Evaluate and document patients' financial histories in relation to Medicaid and other program regulations.
Input and update data into various systems to ensure accurate reporting.
Meet with members and/or guarantors to assist with the Medicaid and Marketplace application processes.
Uphold patient confidentiality by complying with all relevant laws and regulations regarding privacy rights.
