Medical File Clerk

Description We are in search of a Medical File Clerk to serve in our healthcare division based in Washington, District of Columbia. As a Medical File Clerk, your main responsibility will be to manage and maintain healthcare records in a timely and accurate manner. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Handle and organize healthcare files accurately.

• Ensure the efficient and secure handling of patient records.

• Utilize various healthcare software including Allscripts, AHLTA, Cerner Technologies, EHR SYSTEM, and Epic Software.

• Respond to inbound calls promptly and professionally.

• Conduct periodic audits to ensure the integrity of the files.

• Handle billing functions related to patient accounts.

• Administer claims related to patient care.

• Create charts and graphs to represent patient data effectively.

• Assist in photocopying and other administrative tasks as required. Requirements - Proficiency in using Allscripts software for maintaining and accessing patient records.

• Experience with Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA) for managing health information.

• Familiarity with Cerner Technologies to aid in patient care coordination.

• Knowledge of EHR SYSTEM for efficient electronic health record management.

• Ability to work with Epic Software for streamlined healthcare administration.

• Skill in answering inbound calls, providing information, and addressing queries promptly and professionally.

• Auditing competency, particularly in reviewing medical records for accuracy and completeness.

• Proficiency in billing functions, including preparing invoices and managing accounts receivable.

• Ability to create and interpret charts and graphs for data representation.
