Mechanic U14

Overview

This position plans, organizes, and performs the maintenance and repair of the building and its equipment.

Responsibilities

1. Ensure safe operation of all equipment and systems.

2. Maintain equipment to ensure reliability - oil, grease, clean, and adjust as needed (conveyor and related equipment, forklifts, etc.).

3. Perform maintenance on company owned fleet.

4. Basic building maintenance (i.e. repairs to interior/exterior building).

5. Maintain cost in department (parts, cleaning supplies, etc.).

6. Set specifications for new equipment.

7. Work with vendors on new equipment.

8. Other duties, as assigned by the jobholder's supervisor, may also be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in RELATED FIELD.

• Basic PC skills

• Must be a results-oriented professional with verbal/written communication skills using diplomacy and discretion as well as customer service skills

• Ability to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team, pay attention to detail and meet deadlines

• Analytic and Reporting skills

• Utilize sound judgement and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume, team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to read blueprints and schematics on electrical equipment

• Experience in building trades (painting, sheet rocking, welding and HVAC)

• Mechanical aptitude

• Knowledge of conveyor/material handling equipment

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to remain in a stationary position at times; communicate, and operate a computer and telephone

• Light to moderate lifting is required

• Selects best option from a set of defined procedures/ solutions using common sense and experience of similar situations.
