Location: 30 Citizen Court, Markham ON Hourly Rate: (as per Collective Agreement) No Trade Ticket = $29.52 1 x Trade Ticket = $35.36 2 x Trade Tickets =$39.60 Who We Are: Golden Boy Ltd is a Division of 8th Avenue Foods and Provisions. 8th Avenue Nut Butter is a leading manufacturer, marketer and distributor of Private Brand and branded food products. We supply organic and conventional peanut butter, tree nut butter and other nut butters to leading grocery retailers, top food service distributors and industrial bakeries across North America. Position Summary: Reporting to the Maintenance manager, the mechanical electrician will perform preventative maintenance duties on production equipment as well as troubleshooting machines, managing motor controls and will be required to interpret and read electrical drawings. The successful candidate will be required to work morning shifts during the initial training period, then join the afternoon & night shift rotation after completion of training. Weekends and overtime as required. Job Responsibilities · Maintain, diagnose/troubleshoot and repair a variety of electro-mechanical equipment in both processing and high-speed packaging. · Will be required to perform line changeovers and equipment set-ups · Will be responsible to complete all Maintenance, Safety, Food Safety and General Training courses and documentation · Planning, parts and tools identification and executing rebuilds of existing equipment or installation of new equipment. · Work with automated and robotics systems, conveyors and processing equipment (i.e. roaster, mills, fillers, capper, labeller, case packer, bundle wrapper), auxiliary plant equipment such as air compressors, lighting, HVAC/Chiller units, glycol systems, truck docks, doors and general facility upkeep items. · Fabricate parts as required/requested · Read and interpret drawings and blueprints. · Work with Machine Operators on troubleshooting equipment · Maintain, diagnose and repair electrical control and instrumentation · Replace electrical/electronic and control hardware including PLCs and HMIs · Set-up and calibrate various instrumentation (i.e. metal detectors, check-weighers, scales, feeders, temperature and flow transmitters · Maintain, diagnose and repair PLC, HMI and ancillary controls instrumentation · Edit PLC/HMI software, backup programs and software, update software/hardware revisions · Maintain, diagnose and repair E-net/IP communications systems including switches · Maintain, diagnose and repair interplant analog, digital and VoIP phone systems · Maintain, diagnose and repair plant WIFI systems · Reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager but will also be required to follow direction of on shift production supervisor · All positions within Golden Boy Foods Ltd are mandated to adhere to Good Manufacturing (GMP) and uphold food safety standards. · Other duties as required Education And Experience Required: · Ontario 442A or 309A Electrician License a requirement · High School Diploma or GED · 3-5 years' experience in an electrical-mechanical maintenance role in a food manufacturing environment · Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing

    Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:

    • Mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment · Ability to read and interpret electrical & mechanical drawings · Experience in a food manufacturing facility with liquid filling experience is a definite asset · Work to current electrical codes · Ability to handle stressful situations and remain calm · An organizes problem solver, able to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
