Job Title: Material Handler

Job Description

As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for operating Versa-Lift 40/60 MHE on the axle line, lifting between 10,000 lbs to 45,000 lbs, and moving unfinished axles between work stations. You will take care to ensure axles are properly positioned and fastened on the MHE and at each work station. Additionally, you will complete inspections on MHE to ensure they are in safe operating condition.

Responsibilities

• Operate Versa-Lift 40/60 MHE on the axle line

• Lift and move unfinished axles weighing between 10,000 lbs and 45,000 lbs

• Ensure axles are properly positioned and fastened on the MHE and at each work station

• Perform inspections on MHE to ensure safe operating conditions

Essential Skills

• Experience operating Versa-Lift brand machinery or similar heavy-duty lifting machinery (10,000+ lbs)

• Experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing setting

• Skills in forklift operation, material handling, inventory management, and general labor

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with equipment such as reach trucks and overhead cranes

Work Environment

You will be working in a very large welding shop that is well-organized and maintained. The environment can be hot inside when it's hot outside, but there are lots of fans and large bay doors open for air circulation. The work culture is great, with everyone being very approachable and willing to lend a hand. The day shift runs from Monday to Thursday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, and Friday from 6:30 AM to 12:00 PM. Overtime is optional, with a pay rate of $21 - $25 per hour depending on experience, plus a $1 shift premium on afternoons.
