    Systems Test Manufacturing Technician II

    Position Description

    Work as a Systems Test Manufacturing Technician II at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc.! Join our team in Richardson, TX and help assemble, test, and troubleshoot electromechanical assemblies. If you have experience with SEM or FIB alignments, this role is for you.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Set up, test, and pack final products, including SEM.

    • Test products or subassemblies for functionality or quality.

    • Troubleshoot and resolve problems with equipment, devices, or products.

    • Plan and lay out work to meet production and schedule requirements.

    • Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of product function and application.

    • Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.

    • Ensure that quality standards are strictly met.

    • Identify and resolve root causes for excessive waste, scrap, labor, re-work, or customer returns.

    • Partner with engineering to develop processes or procedures.

    • Perform light equipment preventive maintenance and repair.

    Job Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent experience required; 5+ years of proven related industry experience preferred.

    • A minimum of 5 years' experience assembling and troubleshooting sophisticated, detailed electrical and mechanical components and systems.

    • Experience in a fast-paced work environment, adhering to established procedures and production schedules.

    • Strong work ethic and interpersonal skills.

    • Great teammate, capable of collaborating effectively with others.

    • Fluently speak, read, and write English.

    • Capable of lifting 35 pounds unassisted.

    • Able to work sitting, standing, or kneeling for periods of time.

    Desired Skills:

    • Appropriate visual acuity and hand/eye coordination to assemble, manipulate, and test small, precision electronic and mechanical components.

    • Proficient with standard electronic assembly and testing equipment, including soldering irons, multimeters, crimp tools, torque tools, etc.

    • Diligent, independent, and motivated candidate.

    • Familiar with quality management systems and safety programs.

    • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.

    • Basic computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
