    Compensation & Benefits:

    reports to the VP of Production and Operations.

    POSITION OVERVIEW: As the Manufacturing Engineering and Test Manager at One Stop Systems, you will play a pivotal role in driving quality, efficiency, and innovation within our manufacturing and testing processes. Leveraging your extensive experience in process improvement, quality assurance, and team leadership, you will ensure that our operations meet the highest standards of excellence. Your expertise in Lean Six Sigma methodologies and data-driven decision-making will be crucial in optimizing workflows and enhancing production capabilities.

    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Quality and Process Improvement:
      • Utilize in-process and final inspection yield data to implement DMAIC projects, driving continuous quality improvements.
      • Advocate for a paperless environment and electronic tracking of work orders, aiming for real-time tracking with discrete operations.
      • Identify and eliminate the 8 types of waste, constantly working towards process optimization.
      • Oversee production acceptance testing to ensure product quality and adherence to specifications, optimizing testing procedures for efficiency and accuracy.
      • Evaluate new product designs to ensure they are optimized for manufacturability, identifying potential production issues and recommending design modifications to enhance efficiency and quality
    • Data Management and Reporting:
      • Create reports leveraging ERP data to increase visibility of core metrics and production velocity.
      • Support the transition to real-time data visibility by developing Power BI dashboards for Operations.
      • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation to support the transition of new designs from engineering to production, ensuring all necessary information is available for a smooth and efficient handover.
    • Test Lab Management:
      • Organize and maintain the test lab, ensuring adherence to 5S principles, optimal layout and flow, and proper tooling and equipment control.
      • Identify obsolete production and test equipment, making recommendations for new acquisitions and automation opportunities.
    • Lean and Continuous Improvement:
      • Serve as the Lean Champion, responsible for training and mentoring the team in Lean philosophy.
      • Own preventative maintenance and calibration of production and test equipment, ensuring compliance with acceptance test procedures and documentation.
      • Identify and implement improvements in testing and production procedures to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
    • Workflow and Efficiency:
      • Evaluate and recommend improvements for workflow from receiving, kitting, production, testing, final inspection, and shipping.
      • Leverage Infor Factory Track manufacturing automation solutions to streamline production, inventory management, and labor cost control.
    • Team Leadership:
      • Lead and develop the manufacturing engineering and test team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
      • Conduct capacity analysis and create reports to model demand, job orders, bookings, and forecasts.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Proven experience in a high-tech manufacturing environment, quality assurance, and process refinement.
    • Strong background in Lean Six Sigma methodologies (certification preferred).
    • Proven experience in leading Kaizen events, implementing change initiatives, and utilizing lean tools such as 5S, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Kanban, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and Just-In-Time (JIT) to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
    • Proficiency in data analytics and dashboard creation using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
    • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and strategic planning skills.
    • Ability to lead and mentor a team, promoting a collaborative and innovative work environment.
    • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
    • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

    Preferred Experience:

    • Experience with ERP and MES systems.
    • Experience with quality management systems and standards, including AS9100, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001.
    • Experience managing and optimizing test labs, including 5S implementation and tooling control.
    • Proven ability to lead DMAIC projects, improving quality and efficiency.
