    Purpose of Position:

    The Manufacturing Engineering Intern will help us aspire to our purpose and mission by ensuring our production departments are working safely and efficiently, while delivering a quality product, on-time for our customers.

    This position is hands-on and requires a significant amount of time on the manufacturing floor working collaboratively with operators, supervisors, and the Production Manager. The Manufacturing Engineering Intern will also serve as a key link between sales engineering and production, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement through design for manufacturing. This is a high visibility position that is central to supporting a culture of continuous improvement through employee engagement.

    Major Responsibilities:
    • Recommend revisions in manufacturing methods as needed based on costs, manpower efficiency, machine capability, space utilization, etc.
    • Participates in continuous improvement efforts in the areas of Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, and Productivity.
    • Document standard production methods for sustained success.
    • Reduce equipment downtime due to tooling changeover through process improvement, equipment modifications, or tool introduction.
    • Design and drive implementation of new fixtures/other organizational efforts.
    • Participate in 5S activities to create standardized department layouts.
    • Participate and actively contribute to Super Radiator Coil's team-oriented design, manufacture, and customer service/support efforts.
    • Operate with autonomy within the scope of an assignment.
    • Applies fundamental engineering concepts, practices, and procedures to improve the manufacturing process.
    • Utilize Lean principles to improve our products and processes.
    • Manage projects of various size and scope.
    Requirements

    Qualifications:
    • Undergrad in Engineering required (Industrial or Mechanical preferred)
    • Current valid driver's license
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Must be able to work with team members and work with minimal supervision
    • Action oriented, hands-on person who is excited to solve problems and continuously improve the production environment.
