    Position Overview:

    Do you enjoy being hands on while managing a wide range of tasks revolving around the operation of the plant? Do you enjoy the challenge of finding more efficient ways to do things? We are looking for you as our Manufacturing Engineer.

    Responsibilities:

    • Coordinates Staff Training and related documentation > 50% of work.
    • Oversee and manage complex projects, including relocating assembly lines and establishing new assembly lines.
    • Facilitate the training to ensure it is done, documented, and effective.
    • Collaborates with QC/Eng as needed to participate in training.
    • Ideal candidate must be able to handle a wide range of tasks revolving around the operation of the plant.
    • Includes being hands on in production while gaining a complete understanding of product and processes.
    • Implements and maintains work instructions.
    • Detailed instructions to supplement BOMs and PROE
    • Effectively communicate this to the shop floor
    • Evaluate manufacturing efficiencies and propose improvements.
    • Works with Plant Manager, Maintenance, Engineering & QC
    • Tracks production efficiencies
    • Maintains and performs time studies and analyze / develop recommendations for improvements.
    • Communicates ECN updates and changes to factory and attends ECN meetings.
    • Participates in new product development process.
    • Actively builds new product with line to ensure flow is proper and efficiencies are maintained.
    • Ensures equipment is maintained, purchased, and repaired as needed.
    • Responsible for compliance with OSHA, Safety, EPA, etc.
    • Conduit for product changes from production to engineering.
    • Assist with production layouts for new production lines.
    • Create cost justifications and analyze needs for new plant equipment that is required for continuous improvement projects.
    • Purchasing of tooling, equipment, and supplies, and create P.O.'s.
    • Serve as liaison between production, engineering, and marketing.
    • Traveling between our three plants Viking, U-Line, and Marvel, 15% travel.

    Requirements:

    Requirements

    • B.S. degree in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering or equivalent work experience
    • 5+ years of experience in fast-paced assembly or production environment.
    • Project not task oriented.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Candidate must be hands on with the ability to function in an assembly environment.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
    • Proven experience in designing assembly and production layouts in a lean manufacturing environment.
    • Proficiency in using CAD software for layout design,(Solid Works preferred).
    • Excellent written and verbal communication is required, with ability to interact effectively between departments.

    Working Conditions:

    • Ability to work 50% office & 50% shop environment–very hands on role.
