    The Manufacturing Controls Engineer is responsible for the successful completion of small to medium-sized projects of medium complexity with less clearly defined goals and scope. The engineer will develop procedures and provide training on new processes, tools, and equipment, including defining Preventative and Predictive Maintenance requirements and mechanical evaluation of processes and equipment. This role requires a strong background in controls and automation, with the ability to optimize production equipment to increase line speed through controls and automation.

    Responsibilities

    • Complete small to medium-sized projects with medium complexity and less clearly defined goals.

    • Develop procedures and provide training on new processes, tools, and equipment.

    • Define Preventative and Predictive Maintenance requirements.

    • Conduct mechanical evaluations of processes and equipment as needed.

    • Identify components needed for changes, such as VFDs, motor sizes, sensors, HMIs, etc.

    • Read and update schematics when new components are added.

    • Implement process improvements and automation solutions.

    Essential Skills

    • Strong background in controls and automation.

    • Experience in process improvement, PLC programming, and manufacturing engineering.

    • Knowledge of continuous improvement and Lean Six Sigma methodologies.

    • Experience with project management and mechanical engineering.

    • Skills in PLC troubleshooting and robotics, including Allen Bradley PLCs.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering or Associate's in PLC Programming and Automation with 5 years of experience.

    • 4+ years of experience in manufacturing process improvement.

    Work Environment

    The work environment is a very large manufacturing facility, nearly 500,000 square feet, primarily focused on producing sheet metal shelving units. The building has older equipment and can be noisy due to the fabrication and manufacturing lines. Office spaces are located above the manufacturing floor for easy access to production lines. The Manufacturing Controls Engineer will primarily spend their time on the floor, working alongside production support and managing projects.     Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $110000.00
