    Job Description:

    The Manager, System Engineering, will be responsible for overseeing Computer and Network Systems at our location at Offutt AFB, Nebraska, supporting the USAF's RC-135 mission and ground mission infrastructure. The Computer and Network Systems Engineer Manager will have responsibilities in both operational and administrative areas and will assist the section manager with oversight of Computer Systems Administrator (CSA) team.

    Essential Functions:

    • Configure, maintain, and reconstitute complex enterprise level networks utilizing a multitude of routing and switching hardware from multiple vendors such as Cisco, Dell, and Brocade.

    • Administer and troubleshoot enterprise level networks within a Red Hat Linux/Microsoft Windows environment and being familiar with services such as DNS, DHCP, Active Directory and LDAP operating within those environments.

    • Provide weekly network status updates to management and USAF customers, maintaining network diagrams, and training USAF personnel as requested.

    • Conduct recoveries of RC-135 missions by extracting critical data for customer use.

    • Provide Ground Data Processing System (GDPS) operations support, data import/export operations and mission data archiving.

    • Assist with GDPS hardware and software malfunction isolation, and configuration for special operations modes and testing as required.

    • Manage GDPS daily operations and make recommendations to correct system anomalies.

    • Responsible for GDPS database and software configuration control, and login/password security controls.

    • Assist the CSA section manager with oversight of all functional activities operating, maintaining, and sustaining the RC-135 GDPS.

    • Supervise CSA team members through all phases of the performance development cycle; from goal setting to appraising staff and completing annual employee evaluations.

    • Working with network system configurations, operations, and firewall administration, security measures/configuration techniques and data analysis.

    • Work collaboratively with both local & remote systems engineering teams.

    • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.

    • Work independently with minimal direction.

    • Must be worldwide deployable with the ability to travel up to 20%.

    • Must be able to work various shifts depending on Mission.

    • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree with nine (9) years of prior Systems Engineering experience with RC-135 Computer and network systems.

    • Graduate Degree with seven (7) years of prior Systems Engineering experience with RC-135 Computer and network systems.

    • In Lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of prior Systems Engineering experience with RC-135 Computer and network systems.

    • Must have an active Secret DoD Security Clearance at the time of hire with the ability to obtain Top Secret with SCI Security Clearance.

    • Ability to obtain Security+ certification or higher within 6 months of hire.

    • Must be a US Citizen.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

    • Experience/Qualified on current RC-135 mission systems or equivalent platform or systems.

    • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).

    • Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or equivalent UNIX or Linux technical certification.

    • Programming experience with Linux shell scripting, MySql, PHP, Perl, Java and HTML.

    • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
