Responsibilities
Lead the Perception System Engineering group
Responsible for setting performance targets for next generation perception systems
Support current generation systems through root cause analysis, incremental development, and launches
Execute strategic visions throughout product lifecycle to improve time to market of new algorithms
Guide and mentor team on quality improvements, forward design thinking, and trade off analysis
Represent the ADAS perception team in global stakeholder reviews with studio, vehicle architecture, hardware, software, features, body, and more.
Support validation, verification of system documents such as interface and perception requirements utilizing novel methods to chase the long-tail of performance use-cases
Define data collection and restimulation targets as well as analyze and sign off performance from physical and virtual testing
Collaborate on developing new efficient methods of data labeling, statistical analysis, and data collection methods
Own ADAS Perception System requirement documents for common implementations across the design domain
Drive competitive benchmarking and emerging technology reviews to ensure Ford maintains a leadership position in ADAS Systems
Support downstream customers such as Vehicle Operations and Vehicle Programs to support vehicle launches
Compensation will be determined according to experience and location.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems, or Computer Engineering or related degree; or foreign equivalency degree, or a combination of equivalent experience and education.
Minimum 5 years of experience in ADAS, aerospace, or automotive system engineering
Minimum 5 years of experience products in mass production
Minimum 2 years of experience in requirement authoring
Minimum 5 years' experience with systems based on mass produced sensors such as Ultrasonics, Radars, or Cameras
Preferred Qualifications
Strong communication skills and ability to lead ad-hoc teams
10+ years of experience with ADAS systems
5+ years of experience with GPDS and program deliverables
5+ years of experience with ADAS Perception, Sensing, or Control systems
5+ years of experience with system architecture, design, and documentation
5+ years of people leadership
