    Your Opportunity

    The Manager, RLC Product Training & Education will lead and actively contribute to the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of RLC Customer Care & Warranty (RLC = Residential, Landscape and Contractor) training programs for dealer channel partners and internal teams. This role requires a hands-on leader who is capable of overseeing a team while directly engaging in the creation and execution of training materials, technical documentation, and other educational resources. The Working Manager will balance leadership responsibilities with operational duties, ensuring that both team development and individual performance standards are met.

    Work Location

    This opportunity is based out of Bloomington, MN international headquarters. The current team works 5-days on-site; however will consider a hybrid schedule of 3 days on campus, 2 optional remote days from a home office.

    What Will You Do?

    In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:

    Team Leadership & Development:

    Manage and Lead the RLC Customer Care & Warranty Training Team:

    • Supervise, mentor, and provide day-to-day leadership to a team of training professionals, instructional designers, and technical writers.

    • Lead by example, contributing to the team's training initiatives and technical documentation while maintaining focus on quality and deadlines.

    • Conduct regular team meetings, one-on-ones, and performance reviews to provide feedback, set goals, and foster career development.

    Team Coordination & Support:

    • Actively participate in team deliverables by designing and conducting training sessions, workshops, and e-learning modules.

    • Balance team leadership with personal involvement in training activities to ensure consistency and effective delivery across all programs.

    Training and Development

    Program Design & Delivery:

    • Develop and manage training programs for dealer channel partners to ensure an effective understanding of product features, technical specifications, and best practices.

    • Design and implement blended learning solutions, including in-person, virtual, and self-paced e-learning modules.

    • Assess and respond to the training needs of the dealer network through surveys, interviews, and performance analysis.

    Training Coordination & Facilitation:

    • Coordinate and facilitate onboarding programs for new channel partners.

    • Conduct product training sessions, workshops, and webinars for dealer partners and internal teams.

    • Evaluate training effectiveness through feedback surveys, assessments, and performance metrics, adjusting programs as needed.

    Continuous Education

    • Develop and update training content to reflect product updates, new features, and industry trends.

    • Implement certification programs and skill assessments to track the progress of dealer partners and ensure ongoing education.

    Technical Writing & Documentation Management:

    Documentation

    • Lead and manage a team of technical writer/s, ensuring high-quality, accurate, and user-friendly documentation, including user guides, manuals, and knowledge base articles.

    • Collaborate with product, engineering, and support teams to align content with product specifications and ensure clarity for both technical and non-technical audiences.

    • Develop and streamline content creation processes to ensure efficient, timely delivery of documentation.

    • Regularly update existing documents to reflect product changes and enhancements.

    • Set and enforce documentation standards for consistency, accuracy, and clarity.

    • Review and approve content, working with SMEs to verify technical accuracy.

    Project Management & Collaboration:

    Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Work closely with product management, marketing, sales, and support teams to ensure alignment between training programs, product launches, and dealer requirements.

    • Support marketing initiatives by contributing to the creation of product brochures, presentations, and promotional content for dealer training.

    Project Oversight

    • Manage multiple training initiatives and technical writing projects simultaneously, ensuring that deadlines are met and resources are appropriately allocated.

    • Lead special projects and continuous improvement initiatives related to training and dealer development.

    What Do You Need?

    To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree required in Education, Business, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field. MBA preferred.

    • 7+ years of experience in training, education, or technical writing, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.

    • Proven experience leading a team of professionals, including training designers, technical writers, or instructional designers.

    • Hands-on experience designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs, preferably in a dealer or channel partner environment.

    • Strong technical writing experience, including the development of user manuals, product documentation, and e-learning content.

    • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS), eLearning development tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate), and content management systems.

    Other Job Dimensions

    • Supports general service efforts in the Residential and Landscape markets

    • Manages the design, implementation, and maintenance of all service-related education and training programs, including Technical Writing

    • Works closely with RLC teams and dealer channel partners

    • Ability to travel periodically to support dealer partners or attend training events (up to 5% travel).
