Do you enjoy providing leadership across many projects? If so, you should explore our Manager of Projects - Highway opportunity.
In this role you'll be responsible for delivery of budgeted Gross Margin (GM) in a portfolio of projects and aligned PMs. You'll enhance GM results through focus on change management, cash management and delivery of high-quality value-added services to our clients. You'll manage, guide and provide skill and career development for aligned PMs and assist the PM and Client Account Managers (CAMs) with client management and satisfaction. You'll also review and approve proposal/project contract documents, risk and pricing. The MoP will ensure adherence to Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) requirements for all projects in their portfolio and aligned PMs. You'll partner with the Geographic and Performance Unit Financial and Project Controls leads and staff for Business Plan Forecasting and to ensure that Project estimates to completion (ETC's) are forecasted accurately. You'll also ensure compliance with all client policies, procedures, protocols and work instructions and use of our project tools.
Key accountabilities include eliminating/reducing financial surprises, improving clarity around performance expectations, establishing focus on project performance and delivering to expectations, focus on improving gaps in margin and operations performance and drive to achieve a state of quality control rigor and consistency. MoPs will promote inclusion and diversity within the project teams in their portfolio. Ultimately the MoP should be identifying and developing PMs for financial and professional success.
Review and approval of Project Risk Register/Mitigation Plans, Project Execution Plans, and Project Quality Plans
Conduct monthly Project Reviews on projects and document critical issues and actions
Attend Project Administrative Reviews (PARs) as required to discuss projects within the MOP portfolio that meet PAR thresholds
Participation/leadership of Pricing Reviews
Review the accuracy of ETCs/EACs and address variances or issues with PMs
Approve Revenue Recognition Workflows
Provide Contract Delivery Review System (CDRS) approvals
Review the accuracy of contracting documents including scope of work
Bachelor's degree in a related field
Project management experience with highway/roadway entities
Financial experience required, along with demonstrated business acumen
Experience with contracts and risk management
Experience with project execution with highway/roadway work
Strong organizational and communication (both verbal and written) skills and leadership abilities
A passion for focusing on staff management (for PMs) and a desire to focus on helping our PMs deliver successful solutions for our clients
Ideally, You'll Also Have:
Advanced degree in related field
Professional Engineering Registration
Strong inspirational leadership skills
Entrepreneurial mindset
