    At Waste Management, we believe in protecting the environment and ensuring our operations comply with regulatory standards. As the Manager I - Environmental Protection , you will play a vital role in managing environmental protection programs across multiple districts, helping teams stay compliant, and fostering a positive environmental impact.

    Location: Kitchener or Brampton, ON (On-Site with field travel, including 2-3 overnight trips per month)

    Key Responsibilities

    • Prepare and submit environmental reports for both internal and external use.

    • Implement environmental protection strategies and ensure compliance with water, air, and waste regulations.

    • Monitor site operations to maintain compliance, conduct investigations, and provide recommendations.

    • Guide field teams and consultants on environmental issues and improvements.

    • Manage permits, regulatory approvals, and documentation.

    • Lead environmental testing and assessments, including the management of various waste products.

    • Supervise two Environmental Protection Specialists based in Alberta and Quebec.

    What You Bring

    • Bachelor's Degree or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED and four (4) years of relevant work experience

    • 5+ years in environmental protection (in addition to education requirement), with experience leading a small team.

    • Knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance requirements.

    • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

    • Proficiency in MS Office and the ability to learn other technical software.

    • Valid Driver's License with a good driving record.
