    As a Manager, Global CE Application Service you will manage a team of Service Engineers who are subject matter experts of the Building Automation (BAS) that handle support contracts for third party control suppliers and upholding governance of the CE Application solution in production. You will deliver success through empowerment by modeling, coaching, and caring. You will hold the team accountable for creating, monitoring, and taking action on BAS data for troubleshooting, proactively identifying issues, or offering improvements to the system. You will drive collaboration with cross-functional teams for issue resolution, adoption of new solutions, and removing barriers to enable productivity. In this role you will be part of the global Datacenter Monitoring and Controls Engineering (DMCE) team, where you can work with a technically diverse team to collaborate on many aspects of control systems - execution, telemetry, security, service, operations and optimization. This is a flexible role allowing you to fully work remote.

As a Manager, Global CE Application Service you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform.     This role is located either in one or all hub locations - Atlanta, GA, Washington, D.C., Redmond, WA, San Antonio, TX or Phoenix, AZ.

    Relocation support will be provided, and successful candidates will need to ?relocate or reside within 50 miles of the hub office location.

    This role is eligible for hybrid or remote work, up to 100%.

    Responsibilities

    • Establish governance of BAS solutions, new technologies, and interactions between technology layers.

    • Manage engineers supporting 3rd party service contracts with global suppliers, ensuring governance and accountability.

    • Report goals and metrics to leadership through regular MBR and update on budget.

    • Build a roadmap for service design, leveraging cross-organizational teams.

    • Drive team efforts to optimize configurations of BAS solutions with cost management in mind.

    • Influence partner teams to adopt new standards and practices through regular meetings.

    • Utilize metrics and data to drive optimization, resolve systemic problems, and guide future planning.

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering or related field AND 3+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, or systems engineering

    • OR equivalent experience.

    • 1+ years of experience in the network topologies and communication protocols associated with BAS and related networks.

    • 3+ years of experience in BAS execution and support

    Background Check Requirements:

    Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering or related AND 8+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, or systems engineering

    • OR equivalent experience

    • 3+ years people management experience.

    • Mission Critical facility experience.

    • Ability to lead team of engineers in advanced engineering and operational processes and procedures as they relate to large data center environments.

    • Working knowledge of contract terms, conditions, mechanism, and procedures.

    Service Engineering M4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
