    Position Summary

    Responsible for the operational and strategic aspects of data governance, data management, reporting and analytics, as well as oversees staff analysts in their implementation. Additionally, this role fosters relationships with other organizational units in promoting institutional reporting and analytics throughout the Weill Cornell Medicine community.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Manages staff in the implementation of data governance, data management, reporting and analytics. Supports key business stakeholders through the timely and accurate dissemination of institutional statistics.

    • Builds, maintains, and disseminates institutional metrics across various subject areas including administration, clinical productivity, research activity, and educational statistics.

    • Uses quantitative analysis, data mining, and data visualization to support decision making of key institutional stakeholders; provide insights, identify trends and opportunities for planning initiatives and strategic projects.

    • Responsible for the evaluation, modeling and implementation of data pipelines to streamline the reporting and analytics processes in partnership with Business Intelligence.

    • Supports data governance through maintenance of the institutional data glossary, data dictionaries, and reporting catalogs. Responsible for evangelization of these items across the institution, in supporting institutional policy and understanding of data.

    • Responsible for managing the data collection and reporting of key institutional surveys that impact accreditation, U.S. News & World Report Rankings and other highly visible public statistics.

    • Responsible for hiring, management and training of staff, working with leadership to develop growth opportunities for the office and its contributors.

    Education

    • Bachelor's Degree in related field

    Experience

    Bachelor's degree required, preferably in math, statistics, computer science or related field. Master's or higher professional degrees or related certifications highly desired.

    Proven coding experience in SQL & Python for data transformations, modeling and analytics.

    Extensive experience using visualization software such as Tableau, PowerBI, or Qlik.

    Background in statistics, with proven experience in conducting hypothesis testing, and working through parametric/non-parametric models.

    Fundamental understanding and applications of data engineering principals; knowledge in datawarehouse concepts and technologies.

    Experience using Microsoft suite of products including Excel, PowerPoint & OneDrive.

    Six Sigma certification a plus.

    Experience in higher education, academic medical centers and healthcare fields preferred.
