  • RESPONSIBILITIES

    I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES

    Performs a variety of duties to insure reliable, safe and efficient operation, maintenance and repair of equipment and/or systems in a specific area such as Carpentry, Refrig/Air Conditioning, Plumbing, Electrical, Machine work, Painting, Locksmithing, General Maintenance, or Utility Plant.

    II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    Essential: standing, walking, stooping/bending, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking; carrying up to 25 pounds; reaching above and below shoulder level; frequent gripping of an object. Continuous: carrying usual weight of 15 pounds. Occasional: sitting, kneeling, crawling, squatting, twisting body, reaching above and at shoulder level. Depending on area of assignment: lifting usual weight of 15 to 50 pounds up to 90 to 150 pounds; pushing/pulling usual weight of 50 to 200 pounds up to 200 to 400 pounds. Operates power/hand tools required in area of assignment.

    III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS

    Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions. Subjected to noise/vibration from power hand tools required in area of assignment. Some exposure to electrical current, hazardous materials, fumes, and odors.

    IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    A. Education/Certification and Licensure:

    1.Academic background necessary to do calculate, cost estimates, gives and receives instructions, and writes reports.

    2.May require license or be capable of acquiring license depending work area.

    3.Ability to speak, read, writes and understands English, both orally and in writing.

    B. Experience:

    1.Graduate of Trade or Vocational school in specialty area.

    OR

    2.Completion of two year apprenticeship program.

    OR

    3.Five years work experience in specialty area, including experience in making cost estimates, and assessing job priorities.
