Maintenance Technician/Support

The Cincinnati Art Museum has an opening for a full-time Maintenance Technician/Support team member in the Building & Grounds department. The Maintenance Technician/Support will have responsibility for routine and general upkeep of the Art Museum’s maintenance and facilities. This is an hourly position and scheduled 40 hours per week, evenings and weekends may be required during our busy seasons of events.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting directly to the Supervisor of Building & Grounds, duties include, but are not limited to:

• Performing general building repair and preventative maintenance. Functions would include cleaning of cooling towers and boilers, performing work orders repairs for departments, and assisting in other work projects as assigned.
• Cleaning, painting, and making repairs as required.
• Performing winter work duties such as shoveling and salting walkways and steps.
• Assist electricians and maintenance technicians as needed.
• Assist the Facility Support Team division with pick-ups from the warehouses and event set-ups.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Please note this position is considered essential and will be on call for emergencies as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one year of experience in building and facility maintenance or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Should have knowledge of general repair and building maintenance.
• Minimum one (1) year of basic plumbing, light electrical, and HVAC troubleshooting experience.
• Minimum one (1) year experience with quarterly inspections.
• Ability to work independently, and in a team environment.
• Incumbent will be required to walk and move about the entire museum on foot, and work will include long periods of standing, and use of stairs as needed. Lifting and moving of items of moderate weight (at least 50 pounds) required.
