Position Overview:Our client is a global performance materials company and a leading producer of commercial silica and other industrial applications with over 124 years of experience.
The Maintenance Supervisor will ensure the maintenance team performs scheduled work efficiently, responsibly, and safely. This includes repair, maintenance, and installation of machinery, tools, equipment, buildings, and utility systems.
The supervisor will prioritize tasks, address break-in or emergency situations, and develop response plans for management. Additionally, this role involves training and mentoring staff, enforcing safety standards, and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and company regulations.
Compensation:Our client offers a competitive compensation package ranging from
$80,000 to $110,000, commensurate with your experience, education, certifications, and skill set. This reflects a strong commitment to attracting top-tier talent for this pivotal role.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintenance Oversight:
- Evaluate, prioritize, and oversee the execution of maintenance tasks.
- Supervise the repair and maintenance of mobile equipment such as forklifts, man-lifts, and maintenance vehicles.
- Ensure preventive and predictive maintenance plans are completed comprehensively and on time.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Conduct routine training sessions and onboard new and existing team members.
- Provide tools, resources, and coaching to enhance team performance.
- Support departmental staffing needs, including interviewing and hiring processes.
- Work Management:
- Plan daily and weekly work schedules and ensure timely task initiation.
- Ensure consistent use of work order processes, maintenance inventory usage, and preventive maintenance inspections.
- Document maintenance activities in IFS (CMMS) and manage inventory control policies.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Promote a culture of safe work practices and ensure compliance with MSHA and other safety standards.
- Conduct safety audits and incident investigations within the department.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Engage the team in root-cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor equipment performance using KPIs and initiate measures to enhance reliability.
- Additional Duties:
- Address customer needs for rail car maintenance and other services.
- Collaborate on new methods and processes to enhance productivity and safety.
- Adapt to dynamic work environments and provide coverage for other supervisors as needed.
Qualifications:- 3+ years of supervisory experience overseeing a maintenance department.
- 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents, such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and process flow diagrams.
- 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience with fans, material handling equipment, 480-volt electrical distribution, and pneumatic conveying systems.
- Strong organizational, technical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CMMS systems.
- Effective communication and leadership abilities.
- Ability to solve practical problems and adapt to variable work conditions.
Desired Qualifications:- MSHA Certification.
- Familiarity with lean principles, Six Sigma, and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM).
