POSITION PURPOSE:
The plant Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the supervision, assignment, and coordination of maintenance division activities to ensure a safe and productive maintenance team in support of plant goals and in accordance with all company policies and local, state, and federal regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the performance of direct reports and promote a culture of engagement and performance through frequent discussions, coaching, motivation, and career development action plans
- Effectively supervise team to ensure that all assigned maintenance activities are performed safely and effectively by qualified workers in accordance with plant procedures and other regulations
- Ensures team members are properly supervised, trained, and qualified to perform assignments
- Develop the plant talent pool through effective employee relations, training, and communication with direct reports
- Demonstrate understanding and participate in the operation of site utilities
- Assist in development, planning, and execution of all plant-related maintenance activities including Preventative, Predictive, and Demand maintenance work
- Develop and refine detailed maintenance job plans and procedures
- Trouble-shoot and resolve equipment-related issues that impact ongoing production
- Communicate and collaborate with the Operations, Engineering, and Quality teams to investigate, identify root cause, and implement corrective actions for equipment and process related failures
- Drive continuous improvement in performance within Maintenance, Operations, Quality, and Safety
- Conduct preventative maintenance programs, inspects, lubricates, repairs, and overhauls a wide variety of mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Analyze equipment breakdowns to determine source of trouble or malfunction. Recommend and or perform repairs to equipment.
- Able to understand how to close gaps identified in maintenance and training processes and drive maintenance to become less tactical and more strategic
- Model and promote company values by providing effective leadership, direction, development, and support to the team
- Coordinates activities related to shift starts and changes. Leads and coordinates daily activities of the shift team to meet daily requirements that positively impact plant results
- Active participation in team and department projects including responsibility for execution of assigned actions.
- Track, trend & report on established KPI's; communicating to functional manager and site leadership team on accomplishments, opportunities for improvement and planned actions
- Utilize CMMS software to ensure proper documentation of work performed and plan necessary follow-up.
- Maintain a positive attendance record by demonstrating consistent and punctual attendance on a regular basis
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- This role may require some travel (less than 5%)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and achieve results through mentoring
- Effective coaching and team-building skills
- Ability to follow Continuous Improvement (CI) Processes in the Management Operating Structure (MOS).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other computer-based applications.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs; ability to lead others through change.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
- Associate degree or some college in an engineering discipline preferred
- A minimum of 2 years' experience within a plant maintenance function
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience preferred
