    The Maintenance-Operations Leader reports directly to the Maintenance Manager. The role requires direct interaction with other departments (Maintenance, Operations, Technical, and HES) in order to successfully complete job activities. While not having any matrix reporting relationship to those other departments, performance evaluation will be dependent on feedback from those critical stakeholders.

    Job dimensions 

    The Maintenance-Operations Leader is a liaison between Maintenance and Operations. He/she has responsibility to prioritize, schedule, plan and coordinate plant maintenance activities, requiring close collaboration with Operations, Maintenance, HES, and Technical. Also responsible for managing needed maintenance parts and supplies, including issuing purchase requisitions and receiving goods.

    The following are the key activities and responsibilities of the Operations Maintenance Coordinator:

    • [5%] Maintain HSEQ (health, safety, environmental, quality) compliance as top priority.

      • Follow all HSEQ policies and practices. This includes compliance with environmental regulations and permits, quality systems, and safe work practices (RTM, LOTOTO, CSE, Hot Work, Etc.).

      • Demonstrate commitment to all HSEQ matters through individual actions that include CARE observations, SWP audits, RTS/LOTOTO audits, review of higher risk maintenance plans (Critical lift, high energy hot work, CSE, multiple crafts in close proximity, etc.)

      • Ensure timely response to ATLAS First Report Events that involve repair work.

    • [40%] Work Request Coordination and Scheduling

      • Work with Shift Leaders to confirm work request information; Ensure the intent of the request is clear among operations and maintenance key personnel.

      • Work with Operations to communicate maintenance needs.

      • Prioritize work requests across departments and workshops.

      • Build weekly maintenance schedule.

      • Maintain and manage work order back-log. Communicate status to key stakeholders.

      • Lead weekly schedule meeting.

      • Participate in daily Tier II meetings, to facilitate interactions among Maintenance, Operations, HESQ, and Technical.

      • Manage emergency work requests.

    • [15%] Planning

      • Manage and maintain Middleton data in EAM (Computerized Maintenance Management System)

      • Create work orders and plans to support in support of the weekly maintenance schedule.

      • Develop and schedule preventative work orders (P/Ms). Measure and report P/M compliance.

      • Develop and maintain spare parts lists and spare parts inventory.

      • Enter new equipment data as needed (equipment numbers, functional location, equipment-specific data, etc.)

    • [10%] Large maintenance outage & project coordinator

      • Maintain knowledge of work scope for planned maintenance outages (RTO outages, unit outages …)

      • Clarify scope for items on permit request list to avoid errors and delays in permitting and LOTOTO.

      • Communicate regular updates on status / milestones for large maintenance outages & projects.

      • Maintain organization of SWP / RTS paperwork.

    • [20%] Procurement

      • Create purchase requisitions for maintenance items, including spare parts and maintenance supplies.

      • Engage routine service provider / contractors as needed to support maintenance schedule. Coordinate designated plant contact for service providers / contractors.

      • Procure spare parts (capital & non-capital) and manage inventory. Coordinate with plant controller to complete quarterly inventory of spare parts.

    • [5%] Craft Support

      • Provide emergency support to perform craft duties, as qualified.

    • [<5%] Perform other duties as assigned.

    • Position has limited travel (<5%), predominately for training and development opportunities.

    • Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements.

    • Participates in HES activities provided by site management (e.g., Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart, etc.).

    • Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near miss, accident, or injury incidents.

    Required Education/Q

    ualifications /Work experience 

    • Must obtain maintain a broad knowledge of plant operations.

    • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Chemical plant setting

    • Knowledge of EAM Maintenance and MS Office software such as Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint. 

    • Knowledge of plant specific databases.

    • Knowledge of plant safety policies and procedures (Hot Work, SWP, CSE, etc.)

    • Strong work ethic and the ability to work in cross-functional teams to deliver concrete results in a timely manner.

    • Ability to meet physical requirements of the position.
