Job Description

Responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines to perform various tasks such as drilling, milling, and turning. This role requires a combination of technical skills, precision, and problem-solving abilities to ensure that products meet quality standards and specifications. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, experience in precision machining, and is skilled at interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Set up, program, and operate CNC machines.

• Perform tasks such as drilling, milling, and turning.

• Ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.

• Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.

Essential Skills

• 2-5 years of machinist or similar experience in a custom machine shop.

• 2-5 years of experience operating 3/5 axis CNC machines.

• Excellent blueprint reading skills.

• Experience with CNC programming, including Mastercam, Okuma, Siemens, and Heidenheim.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Programming experience is considered an asset.

• Knowledge of SolidWorks, Mastercam, Edgecam, and AutoCAD.

• Proficiency with Okuma, Siemens, and Heidenheim controls.

Work Environment

Work in a custom machine shop with a full range of machining services, including CNC machining, precision grinding, manual turning and milling, plus a full inspection facility. There are two shifts available: afternoons from Monday to Thursday 3:15 pm-12:15 am, and Friday 3:15 pm-7 pm.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St Thomas, Ontario.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00
