Machinist

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our team. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating multi-axis CNC machines, as well as manual and semi-automatic machines.

Job Specifications

• Job Type: Full-time

• Location: Chesapeake, VA

• Pay Rate: Up to $26 per hour (based on experience)

• Shift: 2nd Shift (2:30 pm - 1:00 am)

• Shift Differential: 10%

Roles and Responsibilities

• Set up and operate multi-axis CNC machines, including lathes, mills, grinders, broaches, and gear generation & testing equipment.

• Set up and operate manual and semi-automatic machines, such as lathes, mills, grinders, tool grinders, drills, broaches, gear hobbers, and shears.

• Perform precision machining operations while maintaining close tolerance dimensions.

• Read and interpret blueprints in both imperial and metric standards.

• Calculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematical knowledge (geometry, trigonometry) and part drawings/standards.

• Machine parts accurately using set up and part drawing documentation.

• Use measuring gauges, such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, depth gauges, and bore gauges, to inspect manufactured parts and ensure adherence to drawing tolerances.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Manual machining experience.

• CNC machining experience.

• Proficiency in using measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.

• Strong ability to read and interpret complex drawings and blueprints in both imperial and metric standards.
