Job Description
As a machinist, you will work in a dynamic machine shop environment where you will handle various runs and not just repetitive tasks.
You will be responsible for the complete setup of the run based on provided drawings, including test runs, determining tolerances, materials, and speed.
You will use calipers and basic measuring tools for quality checks.
Additionally, you will perform basic machine maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting when required.
Accurate documentation for all products is essential.

Essential Skills
Minimum 1 year of experience as a manual machinist using CNC mills, lathes, saws, grinders, and calipers.
Ability to work with very tight tolerances and accuracy.
Proficiency in working with drawings, sketches, and blueprints.
Strong mathematical and measurement application skills.
Experience in troubleshooting and machine operating.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with Acu-Rite Mills power controls is an asset.
Ability to work within scheduled timelines for runs.
Experience working with 2, 3, AXIS machines is highly desirable.
Work Details & Perks
This is a contract-to-hire position, offering the opportunity for long-term employment based on performance.
The location is accessible by public transit and offers free parking.
The work schedule is Monday to Friday, day shifts, with no overnight or weekend work required.
The machine shop is attached to the production area on the first floor, which can be loud and may have odors depending on the run.
The environment can be hot, but it is typical for a normal machine shop.
You will always work alongside someone for safety reasons and cannot be alone in the shop.
Steel-toed boots are required, and all other PPE, including glasses, gloves, and hearing protection, is provided on-site.
The work schedule is Monday to Friday, day shifts, totaling 44 hours a week from 8:30 AM to 5 PM.
