    Job Description

    Machine Builders will be assembling machines for the automated plastics packaging industry. It is very important that they can read drawings, assemble parts, and sub-assemblies.

    Responsibilities

    • Read schematics, blueprints, and other technical diagrams.

    • Bolt, screw, clip, weld, solder, or otherwise fasten parts and components together using hand and power tools and equipment.

    • Operate and tend automated assembling equipment such as robotic and fixed automation equipment.

    • Connect cables, tubes, and wires to complete assemblies and installations.

    • Position and install parts, subassemblies, and accessories using hand and power tools and other aids like overhead hoists.

    • Mark, record, and report defects.

    • Test electrical assemblies, equipment, and wiring for proper performance using testing devices such as meters and analyzers.

    • Clean and perform preparation of work-site.

    • Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.

    • Lubricate, clean, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, and tools.

    • Operate, read, and maintain air monitoring and other sampling devices when working in confined spaces and/or hazardous environments.

    • Grind, scrape, sand, or polish surfaces using abrasive tools or machines.

    • Load, unload, and identify building materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications.

    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Essential Skills

    • Assembly

    • Blueprint reading

    • Schematic reading

    • Mechanical skills

    • Machine building

    • Reading engineering drawings/blueprints

    • 3-5 years of experience in building machinery

    • Knowledge of pneumatics

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    • Experience in operating and maintaining air monitoring and sampling devices

    • Ability to work in confined spaces and hazardous environments

    Clean environment, building machinery for the plastic packaging industry.

    Day shift: Monday - Thursday 6:50 AM - 3:50 PM , Friday 6:50 AM - 12:50 PM (no lunch break on Friday).

    Job Type & Location

    This is a Permanent position based out of MISSISSAUGA, Ontario. Located close to Highway 401 and Hurontario, the facility is Transit Accessible.
