Possess knowledge and ability to perform in a variety of trades

Physically able to lift 50 pounds

Ability to follow instructions (written and oral)

Ability to interpret plans; show drawings and specifications

Ability to comprehend English (written and oral)

Help maintain the physical school plant in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all times.

1. Assume responsibility to make minor repairs of any nature in the facilities owned and operated by the district including electrical, plumbing, painting and/or general maintenance.
2. Perform repair and/or new work as requested on approved work order request.
3. Recognize when a specialized trade is needed to solve problems.
4. Examine district-owned facilities on a regular basis.
5. Take all safety precautions related to all trades and reports to Maintenance Supervisor any hazardous situations.
6. Assume responsibility of crew in Supervisor's absence.
7. May be required to work nights, evenings and weekends, if needed.
8. Efficiently use School Dude work order program on a daily basis.
9. Communicate effectively with campus staff and administration.

Power tools (drill, saw, etc...), hand tools, welder (gas and electric air), concrete mixer, ladder, lift, and computer, Tractor with loader, and light truck or van.

Continual walking and standing; frequent heavy lifting and carrying; climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Work outside and inside. Exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, and odors. Exposure to mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards. Work around moving objects or vehicles.
