    Requirements:

    SUMMARY: The primary role of a Low Volt Installation Technician is to assist the Project Manager with the installing, inspecting, testing and maintenance of low voltage systems within a facility. Low voltage systems include fire alarm, video surveillance, door access, AV, audio, paging, intercom, nurse call and network. In this supportive role, technicians are provided the opportunity to gain field experience in the systems integration industry and grow within the company. This individual will bridge the gap between people and technology.

    PRIMARY DUTIES:

    • Installing, Service, Inspecting, testing, and maintaining of low voltage systems
    • Responsible for reading and understanding systems integration installation process
    • Adjust, calibrate, align, and modify circuitry/components and records effects on unit performance
    • Custom fabrication and termination of cabling rack prep, multi-pins and electronic equipment racks as related to integration of professional, audio, video, lighting and computer-controlled systems.
    • Work with spectrum-analyzer, multi-meter, and impedance meter, general hand tools and an assortment of wall fasteners.
    • Assist with preventive maintenance of external and internal customer equipment.
    • Must respond to all customer service-related issues promptly.
    • Responsible for accurate service installation tickets, and inventory items.
    • Demonstrates attention to detail, accuracy, thoroughness, and dependability by following instructions and being an active listener
    • Adapts well to changing circumstances or conditions in the field

    • Always maintains a professional attitude and appearance

    • Other duties may occur at your managers discretion
    • Some Engineering for Nurse Call

    COMPETENCY:

    • Prior Fire Alarm, AV, Security and Electrical installation experience.
    • Preferred CCTV, Access Control/ security experience
    • Valid driver's license
    • Reliable transportation
    • Familiarity with basic hand tools
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds
    • Ability to stoop, balance, stand, walk, sit and climb and/or work on a ladder

    REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

    Associate's degree (or minimum 2 years of experience) in Fire Alarm and AV Testing and Inspections

    PHYSICAL DEMAND:

    • In order to perform the essential functions of this job the Associate must have the ability to stand on a concrete floor for long periods and lift and/or move equipment at least 60-pounds on a repetitive basis.
    • The candidate must be able to lift equipment and construction supplies from floor height to over-head while loading/unloading trucks or preparing equipment for installations, service calls, and events.
    • Candidate must have the ability to climb and work (stack, adjust, and repair) at heights in excess of 25' before/during installations and job sites.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is conducted in shop, on construction sites, in finished spaces, and outdoors as required.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS: English

    EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: 7:00 am – 4:00 pm Monday – Friday, however, other shifts including weekends and overtime are often required to meet deadlines and accommodate client needs.

    TRAVEL: Yes, daily commute to customer sites required
